Practices & Tools

Give Thanks. Start Today. It’s Every Day.

Make Giving Thanks a joyful, regular ritual.  A ritual or habit could be Saying Grace before receiving a meal, recounting a couple of blessings at the end or the beginning of your day, or a creative activity such as crafting and writing gratitude postcards.  They can make a tremendous difference in the way we think about ourselves and the world, which in turn affects our bodies’ health.

The effects of turning our attention to the fullness of our experience and saying “Thank You” for that can be enormous.  More enthusiasm, energy, alertness, social connection and general well being are invited into our lives when we (literally and figuratively) clear out the channels gooked up with negativity and make room for some joyful experiences!  Those are a lot of pretty words to say:  Just do it.  And there’s really no excuse: No time?  Nonsense, it doesn’t take long. No supplies? Rubbish, you need card (index cards from your grocery store work fine, so does a 4×6″ cutout from your favorite cereal box). Check out the photo below… cards/paper, scissors, tape/glue, anything that writes or paints and maybe a clipping from whoknowswhat.

This may actually save the day in case your time with family is typically, well, less than harmonious!  Why not gather around the kitchen table and bring all of your attention to something other than what you usuall talk about?

Make it focused, short and joyful!  But do it!  And do it regularly.  That’s all!

Giving Thanks, In Joy,
Damaris

The Concept Of Deliberate Attraction

Have you ever wished for things in your life? Sure you did. We all do at some stages in our lives. We wish for a better job, a happy relationship, more travel, more money, health and many other things. Fact is that wishing alone doesn’t get us the wish granted. There is no fairy who stands by waiting for our command.

However, there is the law of attraction. It works. How do we know? Because we practice it and you can too with some small and simple steps. There is a way where you can make your wishes come true after all. This way is called deliberate attraction.

A Unique Thank You Gift For Family And Friends

Do you consistently worry about giving the perfect gift to your friends and family at special occasions? We all do in some ways because it is getting increasingly harder to gift. Most people already have everything they need anyway and by buying more stuff just for the sake of it, we only end up creating clutter. Unique thank you gifts are so much more meaningful and often end up being invaluable keepsakes for life.

A fabulous gift idea that is always received well for the female population is to make a  story scrapbook with photos from the person receiving the gift. This is definitely a unique thank you gift and will be treasured for years to come.

Scrapbook Journaling For The Modern Woman

Scrapbook journaling is a fantastic way for modern women to indulge into some “me” time. Let’s face it, we all need time to ourselves and nobody is more on the go than women of today. We juggle job, family, household, shopping, education, weekends and holidays and if it wasn’t for some recreation time every now and then we would most likely just collapse into a heap and never get up again, let alone say “Thank You!” (more…)
