The national I-Am-Thankful postcard art project encourages you to show your thanks! Postcards submitted can honor people, places, things or circumstances. They can be simple or elaborate, as long as they remain two-dimensional.
“Seeing blessings in the little things has lead me to a much happier experience and prevented me from going further into complaining, depression and being unsatisfied with my life,” says founder Damaris Pierce. “When you put appreciation into sincere words, it actually manifests that intention. Auspiciously, there is now a lot of scientific research and proof that any mental activity, whether it be fear, love or inquiry, has a direct impact onto the physical world. Whatever we put out there, we get back. Gratitude is a beautiful way to let the Universe know what you love, what you are grateful for – isn’t that what you want more of?”
We’re not looking for masterpieces. All we hope to receive and share on this web site are sincere expressions of appreciation. This is a wonderful project for groups, classrooms, organizations, friends!
Use a simple post card (it can even be one that already has a picture on it), paint it, collage, write, express creatively what you are thankful for. Put all your love into it and take a quiet minute to give thanks, feel how much you appreciate what you are describing. Why?
Your creation will be displayed on the web to send a ripple of gratitude through the universe and to inspire others. Thank you for your participation, you are changing the world, one Thanks at a time!
Giving Thanks is not just for Thanksgiving.
